She became one of the greatest video game villains of all time, especially in the '00s. The gamers found her witty, narcissistic, passive-aggressive, and fun. The initial reaction from game testers in the test chamber and fellow developers was so good that the developers decided to keep GLaDOS in 'Portal 2', and GLaDOS quotes became famous worldwide. The inspiration for this character came from Walpow’s text-to-speech program for his previous game, Psychonauts. GLaDOS was created to take care of the Aperture Science Computer-Aided Enrichment Centre. It is later that the players realize her true intentions when she becomes more malicious. Initially, it was made to guide the players during the game and aid the Enrichment Centre. GLaDOS was voiced by Ellen McLain and was created by Erik Walpow and Kim Swift.
